Seoul April 2017: Starbucks Blueberry Cheesecake
So you must be wondering, what is so special about Starbucks in Seoul? Yes, most of the drinks selection are similar to what we have in other Starbucks all over the world. Same same but different. And the selection of cakes are different too.
We had green tea latte, again. Green tea from Jeju is used to make the green tea latte here. But what amazed us was the blueberry cheesecake. For those who have tried the raspberry cheesecake in Singapore's Starbucks, it is a baked cheesecake with a buttery biscuit crust and swirls of raspberry jam inside. That is what I would usually imagine a blueberry cheesecake to be like.
But this blueberry cheesecake has actual blueberries on top. The blueberries are sweetened with a light syrup and still have a juicy bite to them. Below the blueberries is a creamy and smooth cheesecake, sitting on top of a chocolate cookie base. The chocolate cookie base is slightly bitter with the taste of rich dark chocolate and complements the sweetness from the cheesecake and blueberries well.
There are also other selections such as apple cheesecake and Hallabong tea, which I did not have the opportunity to try it out. But the blueberry cheesecake definitely left an impression on me!
