Seoul April 2017: Thanks Nature Cafe

In April 2017, I went to Seoul, for a week-long holiday. And in the next few blogs I will be highlighting some of the interesting places I've been (mostly food).

So the first post is on Thanks Nature Cafe.

Even after I read numerous blogs about this being the "must-go" place in Seoul, I was just really putting it off as a "place to go when we have run out of other places to explore". Lol... so in actual fact we just happened to pass by and wanted to sit at some cafe. As luck would have it, I spotted it. Thanks Nature Cafe.

It's not easy to find it or recognise it on the street level, as it is located on a lower level from the street. You can refer to the reflection in the picture below.

So in we went! And we ordered green tea latte, pomegranate tea and waffles!

The green tea latte is steamed milk with green tea powder and the taste of the green tea is not overpowering. Quite pleasant. Also, look at the latte art. It's really pretty. I really liked the effort to draw something else other than the normal leaf thing.

The pomegranate tea is similar to citron honey tea, which is quite common in Korea, except it's pomegranate. It also has little bits of aloe vera and pomegranate in the tea. It's ideal if you are looking for something light and refreshing.

The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside, with a light dusting of icing sugar. It tastes ever so slightly of vanilla, with a fragrant baked smell of eggs.

Ok... moving on from the food. The main reason why Thanks Nature Cafe is famous is because of its sheep.. or lambs. Please let me introduce you to Anna and Sam, who are the resident sheep at the cafe during my visit. I think the sheep are rotated in pairs once every 2 weeks. Apparently they stay in the countryside with many other sheep and come to the cafe in pairs where visitors can pet them.

I think it is good that the cafe is located sort-of underground, at least the sheep would not be directly exposed to the traffic and pollution from the street. Look how cute and spacey they are! Their wool is so fluffy and bouncy!

The man wearing the cap is the cafe and sheep's owner and he was there to take care of the sheep at the cafe. He also helped to remind the sheep to look at the camera, which I am really grateful for! Thank you so much!

 Enjoying some sun!

Bye and till next time!
